What To Expect When You Hire A Caricature Artist For Your Event

Hiring a caricature artist to draw caricatures of your guests is a fun treat because it is entertainment and it is a keepsake they bring home. People love to get their pictures drawn and they love to see an artist at work. A caricature is a momento they can keep for years to come. So what can you expect when you book an artist for your event? Well, here are some things you probably ought to know.

How Long Does It Take?

Usually, it takes about 5-10 minutes for an artist to draw a caricature. Some artists take less time, some artists take longser, but a good caricature artist can produce a good drawing in about 5 minutes. So keep that in mind when you plan your event and you book your artist. How many guests are you expecting? How many of them do you think will want to get drawn? Since each caricature takes about five minutes, you can estimate 12 people per hour.

Number of Guests / Hours

24                       2

36                       3

48                       4

...and so on.

If you are expecting more than 50 guests, you many want to consider booking more than one artist.

How Much Does It Cost?

Packages start at $200 and up, depending on the number of guests. Click here if you would like a free quote.

Can You Get A Caricature of Pets/Kids

Yes. But better to work from photos of pets.

Can You Get A "Pretty"/"Skinny" Caricature?

No. That's not a caricature. Caricatures, by defintion, are exaggerated for effect. They are hyperbole. They are supposed to be over-the-top and outrageous. If you can't take a joke, please don't get a caricature. If you are looking for something more realistic, I also offer portraits.
